Engaging Each Day with Action Words

meet. — about MommyVerbs

MommyVerbs is a little bit about doing my own therapy on the cheap, as a working Momma, a newly tattooed and just turned 40 year old who enjoys writing about life with X and Y while playing fast and loose with punctuation…engaging each day…one action word at a time.

But, I’m on a mission. To be intentional. To pay attention to the action of my world. To engage and encourage others to do the same…especially when it comes to health and wellness. What you eat. And how you spend your time.

So, the Eat Well. Play More. movement began on my way to adding “Health Coach” to my resume’.

Dear Readers: You should know that you don’t have to be a ‘Mommy‘ to understand a ‘MommyVerb’!  You might be a Mommy, or a Momma, or a Mom.  You may have tiny babies or tweens or teens or grownup babies.

OR your babies could be of the furry kind, doggies and kitties and birds and other little critters that you love and care for.

OR your babies are the people in your life that you love — the ones that lean on you for advice and inspiration, for comfort and care—your friends, your family, your neighbors and colleagues.  YOU are probably the active love in their worlds.

MommyVerbs is a  journey to turn some daydreams into action words.

MommyVerbs is an effort to honor the verbs that make up our lives each day.

MommyVerbs is about paying attention and figuring it out, one day at a time.

Come along on the journey! Let’s connect and see where this road might take us.

  1. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and liking my post! I love your concept, your tagline, your way of thinking! I’m looking forward to reading more of your wisdom!

Beginning with an action is harder than I originally though, MommyVerbs! Apparently “beginning” is the best I could do. It’s ok, I’m disappointed too. I’m working on a project I think you may be interested in. I’m trying to get advice from kids in the k-12 age range and am putting what I gain on lessonswelearned.wordpress.com. I would be delighted if you’d check it out and consider talking to any teachers or parents you might think would find this project interesting? If not, that’s ok, I still like your blog!

DO not be disappointed. I struggle with my own verb challenge at times! Your project sounds fascinating. We would love to participate. So, just ask the kiddos for advice and then share what they have to say? About any topic at all?! Because as a former teacher and being friends with lots ‘o teachers…we have stories, my friend. Let me know the deets and I’m sure we will have some golden words of wisdom from the mouths of little ones. And thanks for stopping by and saying HI! on MommyVerbs. 😀

Glad to hear from you MommyVerbs! You’ve got the gist of it, ma’am. So far the kids who’ve responded have answered questions like “How would you save the world?” or “If you were President what would you do?” or “What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned?” things like that. I’ve been posting the kids’ advice, their first name only, age, and what they want to be when they grow up. If any of the kids, teachers, or parents have a problem with that, then let me know and I can edit out the information that someone doesn’t want released. I also have a permission slip proto-type if that makes parents or teachers more comfortable with the idea. If the kids you can reach are able to type, then I’d be happy to have their advice emailed to me at lessonswelearned@gmail.com. If they can’t, then let me know and I’ll be glad to send postage to whatever schools needs it, just let me know! If there’s anything else you need to know about this project, please let me know! I’m so excited for you to be participating in this MommyVerbs! Thank you so much for replying to and caring about this project!

Appreciate. Dearest Sharon, As you know I am a fan of your stories and I honor the courage that it takes to so openly share your highs and lows with all of us. Peer acknowledgment is a gift. Inasmuch as I received it from you some time ago and I received it just this day from another blogger, I am paying it foreword again to one whose writings inspire and uplift. Should you choose to accept yet another Lovely Blog award, here is a link to another blog which has more information. http://wrightonthebutton.com/2012/10/17/one-lovely-blog-award/
