Engaging Each Day with Action Words

Float. — River. Rocks. And Rapids.

on August 10, 2013

We spent the day on the river.

A little family, floating together.

Slowing down. Taking it all in.

Over the rocks and through the rapids.

Holding together, looking out for each other.

Laughing. Talking. Teasing. Planning.

Enjoying the passing landscapes. The trees, the mountains.

The sun sparkling on the rippling water.

Letting go for a little while. Venturing out, each on our own.

Only to come back together at the bend in the river, the end of the ride.

And to go back to the beginning and do it all over again.

A little family, floating together.

Sounds a lot like life.

A little family spent the day with this view.

  1. Beautiful–love this! What a wonderful way to spend the day. And life!

It was a nice, impromptu family outing. Much improved over last year when we tried the same thing. Last summer, Y complained the whole time about the gooey river bottom and I was much more anxious about little X in the big ol’ river. What a difference a year can make!
